Week 6 Reflection
Weekly Reflection (4 August – 8 August 2025)
This week was highly productive and engaging, as it involved a balance between health education and mathematics classes. On 4th August, I began the day by taking two classes in 8H on Trikonasana and Malnutrition, which were observed by our Physical Education teacher, Neethu Miss. These sessions helped students understand the importance of physical fitness, posture, and nutrition in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. During the fifth period, I had class in 9B, where I executed my 26th and 27th lesson plans from the chapter Multiplication Identities. I introduced the concept Product of Sum using ICT tools and extended it through problem-solving activities. The integration of visual learning made the lesson more interactive and enjoyable.
On 5th August (Day 28), I executed my 28th and 29th lesson plans in 9B, focusing on Special Operations under Product of Sum and Number Curiosities. The lesson on Number Curiosities—which explored how reversing digits in certain numbers yields the same product—sparked great interest among students. Their curiosity and enthusiasm made the class lively and engaging.
On 6th August (Day 29), I executed my 30th and 31st lesson plans in 9B. The first session focused on exploring Interesting Mathematical Patterns such as diagonal sums in a calendar and differences in multiplication tables. This class was observed by my instructor, who provided constructive feedback that helped me refine my teaching strategy. The second session followed a Concept Attainment Model, introducing Multiplication with Difference through examples and guided discovery, which encouraged students to think critically.
On 7th August (Day 30), I executed my 32nd and 33rd lesson plans, continuing the topic Multiplication with Difference. The first session introduced the identity geometrically, while the second extended it to numerical problem-solving. Students’ active participation and ability to connect geometric understanding with algebraic concepts reflected their steady progress.
Finally, on 8th August (Day 31), I executed my 34th and 35th lesson plans, completing the subtopics Multiplication with Difference and Product of Sum and Difference. Students practiced multiple problems and demonstrated strong conceptual clarity. Their curiosity in learning new identities and their willingness to engage in classroom discussions made the day fulfilling.
