Week 6 Reflection

Weekly Reflection (4 August – 8 August 2025) This week was highly productive and engaging, as it involved a balance between health education and mathematics classes. On 4th August, I began the day by taking two classes in 8H on Trikonasana and Malnutrition, which were observed by our Physical Education teacher, Neethu Miss. These sessions helped students understand the importance of physical fitness, posture, and nutrition in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. During the fifth period, I had class in 9B, where I executed my 26th and 27th lesson plans from the chapter Multiplication Identities. I introduced the concept Product of Sum using ICT tools and extended it through problem-solving activities. The integration of visual learning made the lesson more interactive and enjoyable. On 5th August (Day 28), I executed my 28th and 29th lesson plans in 9B, focusing on Special Operations under Product of Sum and Number Curiosities. The lesson on Number Curiosities—which explored how reversing d...

Week 5 reflection

28 th July to 1st August  This week was filled with a variety of academic and co-curricular experiences that enriched both my teaching and school involvement. On 28th July (Day 21), I executed my 18th and 19th lesson plans in 9B, focusing on Construction of Triangles in Given Proportion and Triangle Division. The students showed good understanding and interest. On the same day, a Nature Conservation Day quiz competition was held, which created awareness about environmental protection and encouraged student participation. On 29th July (Day 23), I executed my 20th lesson plan, combining concepts of Parallel Division and Triangle Division through problem-solving. The students engaged well with the examples. The poster-making competition organized on the same day provided a creative platform for students to express environmental messages, which made the school environment lively and inspiring. On 30th July (Day 24), I executed my 21st lesson plan on Mid-section of a Triangle. Later, I ...

Week 4 reflection

Weekly Reflection (21 July – 26 July 2025) This week was a productive and insightful phase of my teaching practice. On 21st July (Day 17), I executed my 15th lesson plan in 9B during the fifth period on the topic Parallel Lines Dividing a Transversal in Proportion. The lesson followed a constructivist approach, encouraging students to explore and understand the concept through guided discovery. Activity cards were distributed to help them visualize how parallel lines divide transversals in equal proportions. Despite the upcoming unit test creating a slightly tense environment, students participated actively and showed keen interest. During the 6th and 7th periods, I had invigilation duty for the unit test, which gave me valuable experience in classroom management during examinations. On 23rd July (Day 18), I executed my 16th lesson plan in 9B during the second period on the topic Unequal Division from the chapter Parallel Lines. The main focus was to explain how three or more parallel ...

Week 3 reflection

14 th July to 15 july  This week was a significant and engaging phase of my teaching practice. On 14th July (Day 12), I executed my 11th lesson plan in class 9B, introducing a new chapter Parallel Lines. It was my first class with this batch, and I used ICT tools to make the lesson more interactive and effective. The students were attentive and showed great interest in learning. On 15th July (Day 13), I executed my 12th lesson plan on the topic Equal Division in Parallel Lines. Students actively participated in group activities using activity cards and geometric constructions. Though some found the drawing part difficult, they managed well with guidance. On 16th July (Day 14), I executed my 13th lesson plan, also from the chapter Parallel Lines, and the class was observed by my instructor. The topic again focused on Equal Division in Parallel Lines, with construction-based and group activities. The observation went smoothly, and the students responded enthusiastically. On 17th July...

Innovative work

Innovative Model for Teaching Equal Division in Parallel Lines To make the concept of equal division in parallel lines more engaging and easy to understand, I created an innovative teaching model. The principle behind it is simple yet powerful — parallel lines that are equidistant from each other divide any transversal into equal parts. For this model, I used a ruler and a set square, aligning them in such a way that equidistant parallel lines could be drawn accurately. This hands-on approach helped students clearly visualize how equal spacing between parallel lines leads to equal divisions on the transversal. The class using this model turned out to be highly effective. Students were curious, interactive, and could easily grasp the geometric concept through direct observation and practice. It not only made learning enjoyable but also strengthened their conceptual understanding of geometry through innovation and creativity.

Week 2 Reflection

20th to 25th June   During the second week of our teaching practice, we had to take a short break as our university exams were scheduled. Despite this, the week turned out to be truly valuable. I had the opportunity to deal with the more complex portions of the chapter Pairs of Equations, which enriched my teaching experience. On Tuesday, 24th June, I conducted a diagnostic test to assess the students’ level of understanding, and based on the results, I organized a remedial class the very next day to strengthen their concepts. Although an educational strike on 23rd June slightly disrupted the routine, the rest of the week was filled with meaningful learning experiences. I also observed a growing bond among us, the teacher trainees, as we supported and motivated each other throughout the practice. Moreover, we began to receive an increasing amount of love, trust, and respect from our students, which was truly heartwarming and encouraging.

Teaching practice weekly reflection

Weekly Reflection – Week 1 Date: 11/06/2025 – 13/06/2025 The first week of teaching practice was a meaningful beginning. On the first day (Monday), we were introduced to the school environment. We reached around 9:15 AM, submitted the permission letter from our principal, signed the register, and received our timetables. Though I didn’t teach on the first day, I attended my allotted classes and handled substitutions, using the time to build rapport with the students. By Thursday (our second working day), I officially began teaching according to my lesson plan. I taught the chapter Pairs of Equations to 9th standard students, focusing on the topic Mental Math and Algebra. I started with a simple mental math problem and then demonstrated the algebraic method. I also conducted a group activity using activity cards. Although the explanation part was slightly challenging, the students were eager and cooperative. Throughout the week, I handled several substitution classes in different grades...

The Community Living Camp is an important part of the B.Ed. curriculum. It helps student teachers develop leadership, cooperation, social responsibility and interpersonal skills through various activities and experiences. Badhiriya B.Ed. Training College organized a five-day Community Living Camp titled “SAMANWAYA JWALA” from 18 May 2026 to 22 May 2026 under the theme “Nature, Agriculture, Culture and Education.” Day 1 – Camp Ignition and Team Building Date: 18 May 2026 The camp officially began with reporting and the Camp Ignition Ceremony. The inaugural programme included a prayer, welcome speech and presidential address. The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Rasheed, Chairman of Badhiriya Group of Institutions. In the evening, student teachers participated in campus cleaning activities, a campfire and parliamentary sessions. The first day helped participants understand the purpose of the camp and build unity, cooperation and friendship among themselves.
